When To Start Brushing and Flossing
A parent should begin brushing a child's teeth as soon as
the first tooth grows into the mouth. When using toothpaste, only place a small pea sized amount on your child's
toothbrush.

The easiest way to brush a child's
teeth is to have him or her stand in front of a parent and tilt his or
her head backward toward the parent's lap. Parents should always brush for a child at least two
times a day, until a child is about 5 years old. |
Flossing should begin as soon as the teeth touch and
the toothbrush cannot clean the area between teeth. |
